The all new Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The new Mercedes E-Class has been finally unveiled after hordes of teasers and leaked shots. The first apparent change is the headlamps.

Mercedes has ditched the four headlamp cluster in favour of a single
all-LED unit.

The dashboard has a new instrument cluster and design for the head unit.

There are a host of safety systems on offer, most borrowed from
the upcoming S-Class.

The lower front fascia has two air scoops which look aggressive.

It also includes a radar-based collision control system and a 3D stereo
multi-purpose camera which can detect objects at a distance of up to 1650 feet.

Amongst the engine options, there is a 4-cylinder 193PS diesel engine
which will be mated to the 4-Matic all-wheel drive system.

BMW 4 Series Coupe concept

BMW has previewed the next generation 3 Series Coupe in the form of the 4 Series Coupe concept.
The company is keen on getting its new-gen coupe and convertible models to a digit up and giving them a distinct identity in the lineup, eg: the 5 Series Coupe became the 6 and now the 3 becomes 4.
The 4 Coupe borrows styling elements from the bigger 6 Series with full-LED headlamps complementing the very-aggressive looking lower front fascia.
The rear is in sync with the front design elements and gels nicely with the overall theme.
With a wheelbase of 2810mm, which is 50mm longer than the current 3 Coupe, the 4 Series promises to be more spacious than the former.
Premium leather elements cover the entire cabin. You name it and that place will have leather upholstery on it. But then again, it looks borrowed from bigger brother 6 Series, which in itself is not a bad thing.
There will be a host of new technology features as well, however, it is still not clear if those will make it to the production lines.
BMW haven't announced the powertrain lineup for the 4 Series Coupe, however, it is expected that under the hood will be the familiar 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit from the 3 Series sedan.
The company will be showcasing this car at next year's Detroit Auto Show, with the first production car rolling out thereafter.

BMW i8 Concept Spyder Super Car

What's most stunning about the BMW i8 Concept Spyder the German automaker isn't the 350-hp plug-in hybrid technology, the laser-powered headlights or the auto-show touches such as folding electric kickboards. It's that BMW plans to build something with most of these features, in a car looking much like this, within a few years. This is not a dream. The latest evolution of BMW i-Series concepts expected at this week's New York auto show wears an exterior that while still futuristic, represents a viable look at what BMW will build in two years.

When BMW chief designer Adrian von Hooydonk told us in Detroit the production i8s would strongly resemble the concepts, this -- the layered bodywork, the laser headlights and the tri-tone accents -- was what he meant. Even the i8 Concept Spyder's scissor doors look less showy than purposeful here. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive

Mercedes-Benz revealed the production of its electric-powered Mercedes SLS AMG coupe, offering 740 hp, all-wheel-drive and a body that looks like liquid metal. It's price carries quite the shock as well.Power comes from a levee of lithium-ion batteries developed with the help of Mercedes Formula 1 engineers, packed into the tunnel where the drivelines and transmission used to reside.

With 60 kWh of battery storage -- the same as the mid-range version of the Tesla Model S -- Mercedes says the SLS AMG Electric Drive can travel about 155 miles on a charge.

As there is no comparable all-wheel-drive electric supercar for sale yet in the world, at least until the Audi R8 eTron hits sometime next year.In Germany, the electric SLS AMG will run the equivalent of $536,804, making it the most expensive vehicle Mercedes-Benz has sold since the demise of Maybach. There's no word yet on whether a few wealthy Americans will have the chance to buy the electric SMS AMG.
